A Matter Of Punctuation…


“Let’s eat grandma”

Most students thought about it for a moment before getting to work. Some immediately placed a comma between “eat” and “grandma,” transforming it into:

“Let’s eat, grandma!”

That made much more sense, of course. After all, you wouldn’t want to eat your grandmother! Mrs. Smith was pleased to see the students taking care to punctuate their sentences thoughtfully.

The next sentence was:

“Let’s eat, kids”
