The Penguin’s Beach Day

“Are you crazy? It’s too cold here!” they would say, shaking their heads.

But Pippin was determined. He was tired of the snow, tired of the ice, and longed for the sun on his feathers. So, one crisp winter morning, after hearing one last story from a pelican passing by, Pippin made up his mind. He would have a beach day. It didn’t matter that he lived in a land of ice—he was going to make it happen.

That very day, Pippin waddled off toward the edge of the ice. He had a plan, and nothing would stop him. The first step? Find a spot that felt as close to the beach as possible. He waddled for miles, past glaciers and snowy cliffs, until he stumbled upon a hidden cove, where the sun shone brightly through a gap in the clouds.

“This will do!” he exclaimed. Pippin was thrilled. The sand was just a bit too chilly, but the sunlight was warm enough for him to imagine the beach he had dreamed of. Now came the fun part: setting up for the perfect beach day.
