Lily, not to be outdone, stood up on her tiptoes and put on her best dramatic voice. “I should get the remote because I have the most important show to watch! If I don’t watch it, my fairies won’t be able to save the enchanted forest, and then the animals will be sad forever!”
Alex rolled his eyes but was secretly impressed by her theatrics. “Really? That’s your big argument? Come on, I’m not giving up the remote for talking fairies!”
Lily’s face suddenly turned serious. “If I don’t watch it, they’ll all cry. And then I’ll be sad. And if I’m sad, the whole house will be sad. And then… well, who’s going to make dinner?”
