The Speeding Ticket Excuse
It was a bright Saturday morning, and Alex, a young man known for his tendency to drive a little too fast, was cruising down the highway on his way to visit his parents. The sun was shining, the road was clear, and the wind was blowing through his open window. He was enjoying the ride, not realizing that his speed was creeping higher and higher.
Suddenly, as if from nowhere, the flashing lights of a police car appeared in his rearview mirror. Alex groaned. He had been caught speeding—again. He pulled over to the side of the road, heart pounding, as the officer stepped out of the squad car and walked toward his vehicle.
