In an instant, a large, friendly parrot appeared in front of Jack. It had bright green feathers and a cheerful expression. The parrot squawked excitedly, “Hello! I’m Pablo! Ready for adventure, mate?”
Jack laughed, relieved and overjoyed. “Well, it looks like I have a companion now! Thank you, genie!”
“Now, for your third and final wish,” the genie said. “What do you desire most in the world?”
Jack hesitated. He thought of all the things he could wish for—riches, a mansion, a luxurious life. But none of those things seemed as important as the one thing he truly wanted: freedom. Freedom from the isolation of the island. Freedom to live a life that wasn’t defined by the confines of his past. He wanted the ability to be the master of his own fate.
“I wish to be free,” Jack said. “I wish for the power to choose my destiny, to leave this island when I want and explore the world as I please, without fear of being trapped anywhere. I want to live my life on my own terms.”
