Lucas, ever the optimist, shrugged and smiled. “It’s tradition, Ben! Plus, think about it this way – we’re tough! We’re showing the world we can handle the heat. Imagine how much more grateful we’ll be when we finally take them off at the end of the day.”
Ben, not convinced, sighed and fanned himself with his hand. “Yeah, well, I’d be more grateful if we could just skip the coats and take a swim in the lake instead.”
But Lucas, with his characteristic enthusiasm, grabbed Ben by the arm. “Come on! Let’s make the most of it. We can do this. We’re tough, remember? It’s just one day, and then we’ll get to enjoy the lake and the cool breeze!”
